wardrobe wanderlust

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony would be my dream summer wardrobe.  Its like acid trippy, vintage, high school love affair, and lolita all in one amazing little collection.  This summer you can find me on a beach in california somewhere traipsing around in high waisted floral hot pants, retro wayfayers, and only the most adorable frilly socks and espadrilles.

Here I sit in a warm sunny window in my favorite breezy white tank, iced coffee in hand and all I can think of is how I wish it were pouring outside.  Then the weather would better match the mood I'm currently in.  I've been so busy with school, everything seems to going to the wayside.  Relationships, hygiene, free time, blogging, sleep, food, fun;  all things I once considered a normal part of my life I now consider luxuries, rarities even.  Do I want this life?

lucky soles

Dressing "professionally" can be quite the challenge.  Although it helps to throw a blazer into the mix, that makes everything a little more official.  I had to dress for such an event and this was the end result.  And no outfit would be complete without my lucky shoes of course.  I've done pretty exciting things in these platforms.  Hopefully they still have a little bit of magic left in them.

resurrection

Some concept images of stuff I've been working on for school lately.  As artists, we experience our fair share of successes and failures.  I've come to the conclusion, however, that we can't let our failures get the best of us.  When a concept or idea that we feel strongly about doesn't work out as planned, we have to do it justice and re-visit it.  That's exactly what I'm doing this quarter.  I have had this in my head for so long and I'm finally doing it justice, so I can move on and grow as a designer. Sometimes all we have to do is pay an idea its respects, so we can truly find closure.

subdued: j.crew, fall 2011

J.Crew's fall 2011 collection was nothing short of wonderful.  Known for their vividly mismatched styling, they seemed to go with a more sophisticated approach this season.  Lyons says they took inspiration from "bonny and clyde."  I'm loving the overly strappy heels and the loafers with socks.  These are some of my favorite looks, probably the more retro out of the bunch, I love the 70s vibes I'm getting.  And those bags?  I'll take one of each please.
