Warhol's celebrities

Andy Warhol's celebrity portraits.

Heading to New York on monday for an inspiration trip to see the McQueen exhibit. I'm going with my design group at work and we have an appointment with Frock, afterwards, that I'm insanely excited about!  I know it sounds silly, and I've been many places but never to New York.  I've always sort of dreamed of New York being this place where I magically feel at home.  A place where I feel that anything could happen.  I'll let you know if it lives up to my expectations, but I have a feeling it will....and then some.

rainbowed

I've been thinking a lot about hair lately and it was bound to happen at somepoint, but I'm officially obsessed with rainbow highlights.  I might actually bring this little moodboard to the salon, when I go because all of these styles are pretty perfect.  I want more of the pastel shades of purple, pink, blue, and possibly a green.  Subtle, but still rivaling a my little pony.

drained

An illustration I did for my class last quarter, mixed in with some Beth Hoeckel artwork.

And some Confetti System happiness to brighten up this muggy and rain drenched Philadelphia evening.  I've been feeling so drained and exhausted, with senior projects, a full-time internship, and an online class, I feel like I'm stretched pretty thin.

I'm longing for those open Texas fields and flickering stars in the never-ending sky above my house.  Every time I pull into my driveway after being out past dark, I end up in a hypnotized stare.  The lights twinkling against the consuming darkness makes for one hell of an ending.  I miss those stars...

a weekend is never enough

Just a little Boston photo diary from a couple weekends ago.
The food was wonderful, the people were lovely, and the shopping...well it was amazing, especially since there is no sales tax.  I wore my Top Shop, Liberty of London print shorts while wandering around Newberry Street.  They are so easy and breezy, great for exploring sunny cities.

understated

I'm kind of in love with these buttery leather accessories from Harlex.  They are simple and sophisticated, perfect for the coming fall months.  They have laptop cases, iPad sleeves, and even a key holder, but my favorite has to be the crossbody bag and the camera strap.  A small bit of vintage and good craftsmanship, takes a bag a long way.

lavender fields forever

Right outside the main office at Urban's headquarters there is a miniature "field" of fresh lavender.  It always smells wonderful, and is so charming with the bumble bees buzzing in and out all day long.  It was such a breezy day, sunny day at the navy yard I just had to break out the jumpsuit.  But no romper is complete with out well worn-in combat boots, of course...

love is where it doesn't rain...

Saw this editorial shot by Tim Barber and I was immediately in love.  First of all, I'm not really that obsessed with models (lets face it they need more cheeseburgers and less magazine covers)  but I really do like Bambi Northwood.  Her eye brows are magical.  When I saw her in RUSSH magazine looking like a vagabond, hippie, cavewoman I was instantly sold

Seeing these makes me miss the west.  East coast you are good too, but nothing quite matches-up to the beauty of rugged southwestern landscape and Texas night skies.

florals and fighter pilots

Some Wednesday artwork from Scott Waters.  I the juxtaposition of military planes with the floral wall paper that looks like something from a 1970s garage sale.  So good...
