walls of interest

I've been obsessed with walls lately, and my pinterest habits are definitely reflective.  I recently started a board called walls, and the rest is history.  These are some of my favorites that I've collected so far.  Walls have always been my favorite thing to adorn in a home and I have loads of ideas stocked away for my new apartment.  I love the idea of mixing rugged outdoor things with grand chandeliers and simple furnishings.  This especially solves my problem of not being able to put paint anywhere if my apartment doesn't allow it.  (I'll just cover every square inch of them with goodies!)

I feel like walls can tell such a story in a home and I can't wait to tell mine.

newness

Here lie some snap-shots from my interview in Philly and the goodies that I brought with me, at the wonderful headquarters that is URBN Inc.  It felt good to be back, greet my favorite giant floral wall in the cafeteria, and grab a delicious iced coffee from Jharoka (the resident coffee shop on campus) after being away for so long.  It all felt familiar and comforting, yet somehow new and different.  Its hard to believe that almost a year and a half ago I was living in Philadelphia interning for Anthropologie and the Navy Yard was part of my daily routine.  It was so nice to catch up with old friends and meet lovely new ones.  I'm not quite sure what my future holds and where I will be in six months, so I'm gonna leave this one up to fate and prayers and hopefully they won't steer me in the wrong direction.

Here's to newness, and all of the scary, neurotic, inspiring, wonderful feelings that it brings with it.

rainbow unicorn surprise

Not sure that I ever shared this on the blog, but I guess its never too late to share some eco-bundling.  This is one of the skirts in my senior collection that was eco-bundled with different wild flowers, eucalyptus, and turmeric.  Its silk velvet, so it takes the dye pretty wonderfully.  However, it came out a little more yellow than anticipated but it was a happy mistake, because I fell in love with it soon afterwards.  Originally it was supposed to be what I like to call "rainbow unicorn surprise" which in actuality is a combinations of swirly pinks purples, and a hint of yellow but I got a little too generous with the turmeric and it ended up over powering the colors of the petals, leaving the purples and pinks almost non-existent.  But nevertheless that is my gorgeous friend Mary, rocking it at the SCAD fashion show.
Voila!
